Inquire About This WorkWilliam S. Burroughs and Debbie Harry photographed in New York City in 1980 by Bobby Grossman.
Here the Beat novelist William S. Burroughs sits beside Debbie Harry, the frontwoman of Blondie, in a pairing that captures the easy traffic between literature and pop in downtown New York. Burroughs had become a revered figure to punk and new wave musicians, his deadpan presence a fixture of the same Bowery and club world that produced Harry. By 1980 Blondie had conquered the charts, and the meeting of underground author and pop star embodies the scene's collapsing of high and low.
Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.
