Inquire About This WorkWilliam S. Burroughs and Andy Warhol photographed in New York City in 1980 by Bobby Grossman.
This photograph brings together two of the twentieth century's great American provocateurs: William S. Burroughs, the Beat novelist whose cut-up methods and outsider vision influenced generations of musicians, and Andy Warhol, the presiding genius of Pop art. By 1980 both had become elder statesmen to the downtown avant-garde, their work echoing through punk, no wave, and the wider art scene. Grossman captures a rare meeting of two figures who helped invent the culture around them.
Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.
