Inquire About This WorkTalking Heads photographed at Odo Studios, New York City, in 1977 by Bobby Grossman.
In 1977 Talking Heads released their debut album and stood among the most distinctive bands to emerge from CBGB, pairing David Byrne's anxious vocals with the taut rhythm section of Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. Their art-school sensibility helped redraw the boundaries of new wave just as the downtown scene reached its creative peak. This studio session captures the group early, before stadiums and Stop Making Sense, while they were still part of the close-knit world Grossman photographed.
