Inquire About This WorkSid Vicious and Johnny Thunders photographed in New York City, c. 1978, by Bobby Grossman.
This frame unites two of punk's most self-destructive talents: Sid Vicious, the Sex Pistols' bassist whose notoriety outran his musicianship, and Johnny Thunders, the New York Dolls and Heartbreakers guitarist whose raw style shaped the sound on both sides of the Atlantic. Photographed around 1978, as the Pistols disintegrated during their American collapse, the pairing captures the dangerous glamour and the looming tragedy of the era. Both men would die young, making Grossman's record of them especially charged.
Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.
