Inquire About This WorkJoey Ramone photographed in New York City in 1977 by Bobby Grossman.
As the frontman of the Ramones, Joey Ramone became the defining silhouette of American punk — the leather jacket, the curtain of dark hair, the lean frame folded over the microphone at CBGB. By 1977 the band had released its first two albums and helped set in motion a movement that would reshape rock on both sides of the Atlantic. Grossman was part of that Bowery world rather than observing it from the outside, and his portraits of its figures read as intimate documents rather than publicity.
Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.
