Inquire About This WorkJackie Curtis photographed in New York City, c. 1979, by Bobby Grossman.
Jackie Curtis was a playwright, performer, and Warhol superstar whose gender-fluid persona made an indelible mark on downtown New York theater and nightlife. A fixture of the Theatre of the Ridiculous and immortalized in Lou Reed's “Walk on the Wild Side”, Curtis embodied the boundary-dissolving spirit that ran from the Factory through the punk era. Grossman photographed Curtis as part of his wider record of the artists, performers, and provocateurs who defined the period.
Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.
