A second study from the same period, this portrait catches Andy Warhol — the presiding spirit of Pop art and the Factory — in the guarded stillness he so often presented to other people's cameras. By 1978 his Interview magazine had made him a hub of downtown New York, linking the art world to the musicians and performers who defined the city's nightlife. Grossman's lens meets Warhol on equal, unhurried terms.
