About this work

Andy Warhol photographed at the Factory, New York City, in 1979 by Bobby Grossman.

By 1979 Andy Warhol presided over the Factory as the central figure of American Pop art and the publisher of Interview magazine, his studio a magnet for artists, musicians, and downtown personalities. Warhol's fascination with celebrity, repetition, and the camera made him both a documentarian of his era and its most photographed subject. Grossman, moving in overlapping circles, photographed Warhol on his own turf, instrument in hand.

Each print is produced from the original negative, dated and hand-signed by Bobby Grossman on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.

Vintage prints from the original period may be available upon request. Please contact the gallery for further information.
