The Ramones at Eric’s Club, Liverpool, 1977. Taken on Mathew Street, directly opposite the site of the original Cavern Club, where the band had stopped earlier that day.

The show was packed — loud, hot and humid. As Ian Dickson recalls, he quickly ran out of anything dry to wipe condensation from his glasses and camera lenses, capturing the conditions of the room as much as the performance itself.
