This collection focuses on John Lennon during his New York years, photographed by Bob Gruen, who documented Lennon’s life with rare proximity and trust between 1971 and 1980.

From intimate moments at home to iconic images taken on the streets of Manhattan and at key cultural landmarks, these photographs reflect a period in which Lennon redefined himself as an artist, activist, and individual outside the Beatles.
