Andy Cherniavsky

Andy Cherniavsky

She is one of the most important music photographers in Latin America, and a dear friend of The Music Photo Gallery. Her work brings to our collection a powerful and intimate record of the golden age of Argentine rock.

Born in Buenos Aires, from a very young age she combined her passion for photography and music, creating some of the most iconic images and album covers in Argentine rock history—especially during the 1980s and 1990s.

She was photo editor of G7 magazine for over a decade, and is the author of two acclaimed photography books: Corazón argentino and Charly, a visual biography of legendary musician Charly García.

Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Perfil Award, the Circle of Creative Women Award, and El Ojo de Iberoamérica Festival. In 2017, together with Hilda Lizarazu and Nora Lezano, she co-curated the exhibition Los Ángeles de Charly at the Palais de Glace in Buenos Aires.

Today, she continues to work as a photographer and art director for top brands and agencies both in Argentina and internationally.
